Meet Josh Johnson, DO
Class of 2021
Josh’s History
Medical School:
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences
Philosophy of Care:
Treating patients beyond a medical diagnosis by taking into account the unique social and cultural factors that influence each individual patient. In every encounter with my patients, I hope to establish a relationship of trust and understanding that allows us to have meaningful conversations and, together, create an effective plan that promotes their heath and well-being.
Medical Interests:
Primary Care; Hospice and Palliative Care; Geriatric Medicine
Hobbies/Interests:
My spouse and I purchased a home in the Historic District in Yakima, and have been spending much of our free time restoring it room-by-room. When we take some time to relax, we often take our camper up to La Wis Wis at the base of Mt. Rainier with our Golden Retriever, Jake. I also enjoy snowboarding at White Pass with friends, boating with my family on the Columbia River, and exploring the wineries throughout Yakima Valley.
What drew you to CWFMR and/or Yakima:
I was born and raised in Yakima, and while attending medical school in Yakima at PNWU, I had several opportunities to work with many of the physicians and support staff at Central Washington Family Medicine. I found that, beyond being competent and compassionate, there was a true sense of cohesiveness within the CWFM family, and that I wanted to be part of it. Now that I am, I look forward to staying in Yakima and working with the community that I’ve grown up with.
