Get to Know Our Providers

We realize how difficult it will be this interview season to get a sense of our program’s personality, and we will miss getting to know you in person also.  Our Featured Provider videos, we hope, will provide you with a glimpse into the physicians that comprise our residency; their focus and reasons for practicing medicine in this organization.

Featured Faculty - Maria Verduzco, MD

“My first love for medicine was obstetrics. I was present during the delivery of my nephew when I was in high school, and I was fascinated by the miracle of life. To this day, I sometimes get teary-eyed when I deliver babies.”

Featured Faculty - Sara Cate, MD, MPH

“I believe in patient centered, compassionate care based on best practices and grounded in sound science. I am passionate about providing care to those who because of economic or other barriers are less able to access medical care.”

Featured Resident Graduate - Sarah Ayala, DO

“My approach to patient care is to build an open and trusting relationship. I hope to foster this by creating a safe space within each patient-doctor relationship. My goal is that each patient feels heard and included in decisions.”

Featured Resident Graduate - Emily Webb, DO

“I believe my role as a primary care resident physician is not only to train to be an expert in preventive medicine and the diagnosis and treatment of disease, but also to get to know the unique personality and circumstances of each patient. Having medical knowledge is only part of being a great physician. Knowing how to apply that medical knowledge on behalf of a specific patient is equally important.”
