Bio:
Koraima Tejeda has been a part of CHCW since 2014. She is currently the Program Coordinator for LIDERES-LC, a role that goes hand in hand with her passion for helping others and serving her community.

As the oldest daughter of immigrant parents, Koraima witnessed first-hand from a young age the barriers and difficulties that her parents faced not being able to speak or read English at the time. She felt like it was her duty to help them navigate the system, and from that moment, she knew she would continue to help others in similar situations.

In her previous role as an Outreach Coordinator, Koraima connected patients to community resources as well as medical insurance. She also worked as a DOJ Accredited Representative with La Casa Hogar, a local non-profit organization that focuses on helping the Latino community. In this role, she helped facilitate the naturalization process for those who were ready to obtain their citizenship.

Koraima also serves as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Yakima Community Coalition, which focuses on creating a community of healthy, empowered, and drug-free youth. Koraima believes that the LIDERES program is the first step of many in providing better medical care to the Latino community and creating long term doctor-patient relationships. She is excited to work directly with the physicians in this program and of course, the Latino community.
