Meet Shanice Santa Olivo, PhD

Clinical Psychologist at Community Health of Central Washington. Her current role is as a Behavioral Health Provider serving Yakima community at the Highland Clinic, Naches Medical Clinic, and Yakima Pediatrics.

Dr. Santa Olivo provides support to patients with health concerns such as: pain management, stress management, parent training, lifestyle changes, and chronic diseases. Her current role as faculty, allows her to work with medical providers and other supporting staff under the Primary Care Behavioral Health Model .

Dr. Santa Olivo completed a baccalaureate in Forensic Psychology at University of Puerto Rico in Ponce and a master’s and Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. During her undergraduate and graduate programs, she had the opportunity to provide individual, couples, family and group therapy services in rural clinics, schools, university mental health clinic, non-profit organizations, and hospitals (Pediatrics and General). Dr. Santa Olivo completed her internship and post doctorate training with Community Health of Central Washinton.

Dr. Santa Olivo throughout her training has had the opportunity to work with individuals from across the lifespan with diverse socio-economic status, multiple cultural backgrounds, minoritized populations, education, and spiritual belief systems. She also has extensive experience working with Latinx population and as a first-generation Latina, values upholding cultural values when providing services.
