Zach Valadez, MD
Medical School: St. George’s University
Philosophy of Care: My aim as a physician is to approach every patient with an open mind and unbiased outlook. Patients’ concerns deserve to be heard, and if I can approach an interview without any preconceived notions I am more likely to hear their story. Through proper education, effective communication, cultural competency, and empathy I hope to deliver accurate, effective care to my patients and community.
Medical Interests: Full spectrum, preventative, sports medicine
What drew you to CWFMR and/or Yakima: Yakima offers the opportunity to work in an unopposed setting while surrounding myself with friendly, curious, and compassionate people. Yakima holds a similar vibe to my hometown, focusing on agriculture and small town friendliness, which makes the transition a comfortable one.
Personal Interest / Hobbies: I’m a former water polo player and coach, and still relish any opportunity to get in the pool. I enjoy weight lifting and hiking with my fiancée as a form of stress relief, and am trying to learn to love running. My father put me onto science fiction and American fiction from a young age, and I still try to read for pleasure when I have a free minute. Finally, I’m a huge baseball and hockey fan.
