This month 7 faculty will attended the Society for Teachers in Family Medicine (STFM) annual spring meeting. STFM is the academic organization for family medicine with nearly 5,000 members. This will be the 50th anniversary with nearly 2000 attendees expected.
The STFM annual meeting has folks from schools across the country – from the University of Washington to University of Minnesota, Harvard to Pikeville, to name just a few. In that august company our residency program will shine. We will be involved in several national group meetings and individual presentations by Drs. Micahlyn Powers, Bridget Beachy, and myself. Given our size and location, it is an outsized presence.
So what are we doing right? We are talking about a number of our innovations. The work we do in behavioral health, our efforts to expand group visits, and faculty participation in the development of national curricula all contributes to improvements in Family Medicine education.
So if you see them, please give a shout out to Drs Beachy and Powers for their leadership in presenting the marvelous work we do on a national stage. It certainly makes me proud to be a part of this organization.
