Philosophy of Care: Most of the time we lose a large percentage of what we learn in medical school because the practice of being a physician has become so specialized. Because this happens, physicians tend to focus solely on one system, and sometimes only a collection of body parts. However, our patients contain not just the cardiac system, but renal, neuro, GI, etc, and I think we let our patients down by forgetting that all of our systems work in tandem to perform on a daily basis. I believe that I can do my best in caring for my patients by looking at them as a collection of all of their parts, and also looking at them and treating them like another human being, who have to take ownership in their own health and at times their own healing.
Medical Interests: urgent care, full spectrum with procedures
What drew you to CWFMR and/or Yakima: I am excited for the ability to learn and practice full spectrum medicine at an unopposed facility. I was also drawn in by the focus on community both within the program and with our patients.
Personal Interest / Hobbies: gardening, reading, theater, cooking – especially ‘chopped’ date days with my wife.
