Author of several book chapters on providing BHC services in medical centers

Special professional interests:
Management of chronic health conditions (DM, HTN, Chronic Pain),Promoting behavior change for more healthy living – promoting exercise and eating for health, Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (3rd wave CBT) in primary care and other medical settings, Addressing medical provider burn out and promoting health for medical providers, Teaching residents how to understand a patient’s overall health in the context of the whole person’s life and psychosocial functioning.

Personal Interests/Hobbies:
Married. No children, but two very loved bearded dragons named MJ and Weston. Watching and playing sports of all kinds, especially basketball, football, tennis, and softball. Love the outdoors, hiking, running, and being in nature. I am very close with my Mom, Dad, and older brother (and my sister-in-law) and cherish every opportunity for us to all meet up in Pittsburgh, PA. . I also look forward to spending time with my many wonderful in-laws while in Pittsburgh.

Played my four years of college basketball and 2 years of college softball while at Geneva College. Grew up in Youngstown. OH until high school graduation. Spent 6 years in Beaver Falls/Pittsburgh, PA. Lived 4 years in Missouri completing graduate school. Been in PNW since 2013.
